Service Description

Medical Cardiac Canadian center offers Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) testing. This test compares blood pressure in the arms and legs to determine the risk of circulation problems. Our clinic's experienced medical team utilizes ABI testing to identify early signs of cardiovascular issues and provide tailored treatment plans. Indication: • Help check for peripheral artery disease (PAD). • Cardiovascular health assessment. How do I get ready for an ABI test? • No test preparation needs it. • Inform your healthcare practitioner of all medications you use. What happens during the procedure? • During an ankle brachial index test, you lie on your back. A technician takes your blood pressure in both of your arms using an inflatable cuff, similar to the one used in the doctor's office. The technician also measures the blood pressure in the ankles. The doctor uses these values to compute your ABI. What happens after the test? No special care required; you can return to your regular activities. A cardiologist will interpret the test and send their final impression to your healthcare provider.
