Indication: • To screen for hypertension/ hypotension • To monitor the effectiveness of management • To assess suitability for certain occupations or a sport • To estimate cardiovascular risk • Determining the risk of medical procedures How do I get ready for the Test? • No test preparation needs it. • Don’t stop any medications without asking your provider. • Inform your healthcare practitioner of all medications you use. What happens during the procedure? • After explaining the process to you, your healthcare practitioner will ask if you have any questions. • A blood pressure cuff will be fitted to your upper arm. The cuff is attached to a digital machine that will record your pressure throughout the 24-hour period. • The digital machine will be placed in a case and can be worn on your shoulder as a cross-body purse. What happens after the test? No special care required, you can return to your regular activities and diet (such as work, exercise and regular diet). When the blood pressure monitoring is complete, return the device and give your diary. The information from the device and your notes will be reviewed. A specialist will interpret the test and send their final impression to your healthcare provider.
