Service Description
This test evaluates your heart's function under stress and can show problems that aren't visible when your heart is resting. Our expert team provide accurate results, helping to diagnose heart conditions and develop personalized treatment plans. Indication: • Chest pain/ discomfort • Shortness of Breath/ Dyspnea • High risk patients/ HTN/ High Cholesterol/ Family History/ Obesity/ Smoker • Post myocardial inflation • Assess CAD/ Arrhythmias • Fitness program How do I get ready for an Exercise Stress Test? • Don’t stop any medications without asking your provider. 24 hours before your test - Your cardiologist may instruct you to stop taking certain medicines. • Caffeine/ smoking/ eating should be avoided for 4 hours before the test. You may have a small snack or water. • Wear comfortable clothes/shoes that you can walk in. • Inform your healthcare practitioner of all medications you use and if you have a pacemaker. What happens during the procedure? • After explaining the process to you, your healthcare practitioner will ask if you have any questions. • Wearing your glasses, dentures, or hearing aids is acceptable. • Electrodes will be applied to your chest to get you ready for the test. • The technologist will walk you through the treadmill and demonstrate how to run or walk on it. • Every 3 minutes, the treadmill’s speed and slope will increase until your maximum heart rate “which is based on your age” is reached. Then you will get off the treadmill. • Throughout the test, the technologist will assist you and monitor your BP and HR. • Following the test, you will be asked to rest until your HR/BP back to normal. • Once the test is over, the technologist will remove the ECG electrode pads. Then, you good to go. What happens after the test? No special care required, you can return to your regular activities and diet. Your healthcare provider might give you additional instructions following the procedure, depending on your situation. A cardiologist will interpret the test and send their final impression to your healthcare provider.
